Hillary vs. Grand Theft Auto

Johnson finds many things wrong with Sen. Clinton's argument for controlling video games. He thinks there are worse things for kids to do than video games including football because of the aggressiveness involved. He thinks video games help the kids mentally. Some examples are the hand-eye coordination and learning the skills that could help them in the future. He says video games let children clear their minds and explore instead of taking it out on a person. He agrees with her on the subject that children do not get enough exercise but that is the only thing.

Hillary vs. Grand Theft Auto

Johnson finds many things wrong with Hillary's arguments for controlling video games. One of Johnson's first main arguments is that Clinton is overlooking some of teh real-life dangerous acts of violence, like football. Kids are constantly fighting, betting and doing other things with football that is more harmful to them than any video game. Video games are like a safe haven for many kids, they can express their anger in a non-violent way that does not hurt anyone else but a character in a video game. Video games actually stimulate hand eye coordination, help kids with memorizing, and allow them to be in charge of things that they do. For example, they have to do a lot of memorization of codes for certain moves and learning how to set up their own plays. Video games are beneficial to kids, with the exception of the lack of exercise. However, like Johnson points out, homework does not help with the obesity and lack of exercise problem either.

Johnson vs. Hillary

Johnson finds a lot wrong with Hillary's argument for controlling video games. In fact, the only thing that he agrees with is that kids are not getting excercise from them, but even then he gives a good point that reading or doing homework is not getting kids excercise either. He thinks the overall idea for controlling video games is silly aswell, because more violence is found in football players than kids who like video games. Video games actually provide an outlet for most kids, so instead of provoking violent behavior video games are preventing a lot of people from actually going out and doing things like stealing cars. This is one of the many good points Johnson made in his letter, and I fully agree with absolutely everything he said. I couldn't have said it better myself.

Hillary vs. Grand Theft Auto

1. Position arguments are sometimes written as rebuttals to the position arguments of others. What exactly does Johnson find wrong with Senator Clinton's argument for controlling video games?
