Life without health insurance Q2

In any paper a personal experience add a sense of individualiy. In this exerpt Clark explains to the audience how a real life experience like this can really happen. If it had just been a written statistic people would not really see the harshness of it. If you show a real account of someone going through something as terrible as having no medical help throughout their life. I believe clark has shown a really hard aspect of her life, and the fact she wrote an entire story about the struggle she went through also shows how strong people can come out in the end.

Clark Response

Clark adds her own personal experience into the mix of the statistics to appeal to the emotions of the audience. Most people walk through life thinking nothing will ever happen to them, which is a little like what Clark did. Once something happened to her, she was out of insurance and had to fight her way back through debt and illness. Her personal experience allows the audience to see that stuff like this really does happen in our world, they are not just statistics, they are real people that go through with these hardships. A real life example helps the reader imagine themselves in the writers situation and get a better perspective on the situation as a whole.

Response to Clark article

2. The statistics Clark cites in her essay are readily available, and she is making a claim others have already made. What does her personal experience add to this debate?

Audience-Tim Fisher

The group of people I'm trying to reach with my essay would be those who are familiar with Title IX. I do not try to dumb down my essay to inform those who do not know of Title IX because, frankly, I am not interested in trying to explain this law to them. I do believe this will not be a problem for my fellow English class members due to the fact that I believe all of them to be fairly knowledgeable people who should not have a problem understanding what I am saying. My essay will be brought forth as if everyone is already relatively familiar with Title IX, and I will explain in my opinion why it needs to be changed.

Audience

The audience in my essay is the faculty and students at Bowling Green State University. My audience is good for my topic because my paper is concerning their well being and safety here at BG. They would be aware of certain steps to take in case an emergency happened here and would see maybe some other alternatives to make it even better. They would benefit form it because its very important to then and effects them. I will try and explain what I believe our university should in case an emergency should happen and what tools could be even more useful.
