I amire Fredrick Douglas's courage to speak about something he was very passionate about no matter what kind of backlash was to be expected. He was able to bring to attention how ironic the celebrations of the fourth of july is to commemorate liberty for all men of america, and yet there is slavery abound across the nation. He also sheds light on how the slaves had felt on those celebrations of how brutal and harsh their lives are belittled by the american man that supports the liberty of all man kind.
