Coffee-Tim Fisher

The employees need not understand the reasons for the employers demands, they need only to fulfill what ever duty the employer assigns them. That's because it is their job to do so. They are being paid to fulfill the contract they signed with the company. And when an employee no longer "feels" like doing what their employer wants, they should quit.

Are coffee shops run by the evil business men in a Dickens novel? Employment is a contract between two parties, not agreeing to be slaves, employees have rights. It’s find to say you can’t yell at people and need to smile as it’s a service industry that depends on this. But, reading these blog entries about not being an individual makes me think about working in a sweat shop. Individuals need things like breaks, pay, and a life outside of work that may not be in the best interest of the company. If then the boss says that you have to work 12 hours a day with no lunch break and there’re only paying you $20 for the day is it you job to do that? Also, what is inherently bad about being an individual in the business? Most people like it when people that they interact with don’t act like a robot, sure it’s important to be fast and efficient, but that doesn’t have to mean not an individual.
